UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
As women organized for mission, United Methodist Women are involved in mission activities and mission partnership ventures locally, in thousands of communities in every state of the United States and in over fifty countries around the world.
Over one million United Methodist women are committed to this same purpose--women who pray and are willing to take risks to live out those prayers--women who deal with issues of their day with Christian concern and commitment--women who take seriously both the opportunities and the obligations of discipleship.
Program topics range from contemporary and social issues to Bible studies and studies of local and worldwide missions. Through our programs, we can gain a better understanding of our roles as disciples of Christ. Tens of thousands of dollars for missions have been raised through craft shows, garage sales, bake sales, and other fundraising ventures. Serving meals at a local shelter, collecting eyeglasses, and providing school supplies, new baby layettes, sewing kits, and kitchen essentials for the less fortunate are some of the projects these ladies sponsor.
Membership is open to any woman who indicates her desire to belong and to participate in the global mission of the church through the United Methodist Women
